European Transfer News: AC and Real Madrid interested in Ronaldo, the latest on Kaka, and more

Britain Soccer Premier LeagueAC Milan and Real Madrid are making news as both have expressed interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United. In other news, Real Madrid have made a bid for Kaka and a decision should be made by Monday whether the Brazilian star accepts the deal. Chelsea have also been rumored to be interested in Kaka, and the English club is also targeting David Villa and Frank Ribery. Here are more details on all of these stories.

AC Milan interested in Ronaldo – “AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has declared that Cristiano Ronaldo would consider a move to his club.

The Manchester United superstar has been constantly linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent years.

Claim after counterclaim has come, but Real Madrid have thus far been unable to prise him away after two summers of trying.

A third summer battle has already begun, but now another interested party could emerge in the shape of Milan.

And if Kaka’s proposed world record sale to Real goes through – they would be well equipped to match any offer the Spanish giants may make to United.

Berlusconi was talking to his own Mediasetorganisation and revealed he could be ready to battle for Ronaldo.

‘I told Cristiano Ronaldo that I would like to see him as a Rossonero,” he said.

“He looked at me, and said ‘Who doesn’t like Milan? All players would like to come to Milan’.”

Like with all of Real’s comments, Berlusconi’s declarations are sure to be met with disdain by the English champions.”

Real Madrid look to sign Kaka and Ronaldo – “Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has wasted little time in stepping up his Galactico policy after revealing he will ‘work to bring Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo’ to the Bernabeu.

The Spanish giants are currently in negotiations to lure the former from AC Milan but Perez’s admission with regards Ronaldo is likely to infuriate Sir Alex Ferguson and Old Trafford officials.

Speculation has suggested a deal could already be in place to take Ronaldo to the Spanish capital, but Perez concedes he knows nothing of any such arrangement.

He is, though, steadfast in his thinking that the Portuguese wide man is a player he will pursue throughout the summer, as he bids to restore Real to their former glories.”  http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5363195,00.html - SkySports.com

Chelsea aim for Ribery and Villa – “According to a report in the British broadsheet The Guardian, Chelsea have identified Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery and Valencia‘s David Villa as two of their top targets this summer.
It was reported on Wednesday that the Blues had hoped to hijack Real Madrid’s €65 million (£56.2m) bid for Milan’s Kaka with an offer of €83.8m (£73m).

However, the west London club have since denied making an official approach for the Brazil international, and have apparently conceded that he will join los Blancos.

It is also thought that Chelsea have given up their pursuit of Alexandre Pato as the Rossoneri are unlikely to allow two of their most prized assets leave the San Siro during the close-season.

Therefore, the Pensioners have turned their attentions to Ribery and Villa. However, they may struggle to land the former as Die Roten have previously declared they will not even consider offers of less than €100m (£87m).

On Wednesday, Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness reiterated the club’s intention to keep the 26-year-old, stating, “[Head coach Louis] van Gaal really wants to keep him.

“We will not let Ribery go. There will be inquiries for Ribery in the next four to six weeks, I’m sure. We will be polite but we will not negotiate. We are not going to celebrate on the telephone when somebody offers a certain amount.”

Valencia, on the other hand, are likely to listen to bids for Villa as a result of their huge debts. It is thought that the 27-year-old striker is keen to remain in Spain, and a move to Barcelona may be on the cards, especially if Samuel Eto’o leaves the Nou Camp.” – Goal.com - http://www.goal.com/en-india/news/222/transfer-zone/2009/06/04/1304506/chelsea-target-bayern-munichs-franck-ribery-valencias-david
