The 2009 Peace Cup continued on Monday with Portugese team FC Porto taking on French side Lyon, and Mexican side Atlante taking on Spanish club Malaga. Here’s a recap of both matches along with video highlights.
FC Porto tops Lyon 2-0 – Video Highlights
Hulk scored two goals for FC Porto as they defeated Lyon 2-0 Monday in the Peace Cup. The first goal came in the 10th minute and the second was in the 75th minute. The first goal was a long shot from outside the box and the second was on the counterattack after a turnover. Porto is 1-0-0 in the Peace Cup so far and Lyon is 0-1-1.
Atlante beats Malaga 3-1 – Video Highlights
Atlante scored two second half goals to break a 1-1 tie as they beat Spanish side Malaga 3-1 in the Peace Cup on Monday. Atlante never trailed and opened the scoring with a goal from Pereyra in the 16th minute but Malaga tied it up less than 10 minutes later with a goal from Jose Luque in the 24th minute. The first half would end at 1-1. Atlante came out firing in the 2nd half and Marquez gave them the lead in the 66th minute. Another goal from Bermudez in the 72nd minute sealed the 3-1 victory for Atlante.
