The Wembley Cup continued on Sunday with FC Barcelona taking Al-Ahly and Tottenham Hotspur taking on Celtic. Here’s a recap of both matches along with video highlights.
FC Barcelona beats Al-Ahly 4-1 – Video Highlights – Barcelona defeated Egyptian side Al-Ahly 4-1 to remain undefeated in the Wembley Cup. The Spanish giants started off quickly with a goal from Bojan KrKic in the 16th minute. Al-Ahly responded with a goal in the 31st minute from Hany El Egezy to tie it at 1-1. Next, Barcelona took back the lead with goal just before halftime from Jose Mariarueda in the 41st minute. The 2nd half was all Barca as Jeffren Suarez scored in the 56th minute, and Rodriguez Predito made it 4-1 in the 67th minute.
Celtic FC defeats Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 – Video Highlights – Scottish club Celtic FC defeated Tottenham 2-0 to remain undefeated in the Wembley Cup. Celtic got off to a great start with an early goal from Chris Killen in the 9th minute. Tottenham were unable to get any goals and couldn’t recover after going down 0-1. Georgios Samaras scored the final goal for Celtic in the 40th minute to make it 2-0. The 2nd half had no goals and score remained the same after 90 minutes. Tottenham is now 0-1-1 in the Wembley Cup and Celtic is 2-0-0.
