UEFA Champions League Qualifying Recap – Levski Sofia, APOEL FC, Olympiacos, and Copenhagen advance

The UEFA Champions League third round of qualifying finished on Wednesday with many teams advancing to the next round and hoping to make the Group Stage. Here’s a recap of a few of the matches along with video highlights.

PFC Levski Sofia advances past FK Baki 2-0 on aggregate

Levski Sofia was able to score 2 goals in the second leg at home as they advance to the next round of qualifying. FK Baki lost 0-2 in the second leg after they were unable to score in the first leg at home.

APOEL FC advances past FK Partizan 2-1 on aggregate

APOEL was able to hold on as they got a 2-0 lead after the first leg as Partizan won 1-0 in the second leg. Each home team won their match but the extra goal form APOEL was the difference.

Olympiacos FC advances past SK Slovan Bratislava 4-0 on aggregate

Olympiaicos advanced with a solid 2-0 victory in both legs as they held Slovan Bratislava scoreless in both matches. The Greek side was strong in both legs and will be looking for a place in the group stage.

FC Copenhagen advances past Staebek IF 3-1 on aggregate

Copenhagen won the first leg 3-1 and the second leg was a scoreless draw as they advanced. Staebek IF was unable to score at home and Copenhagen was able to play defensively with a lead.
