Chelsea wasted no time putting the match out of reach as they scored three first half goals. Florent Malouda scored in the 5th minute to make it 1-0 followed by two goals from Michael Essien in the 12th and 22nd minute. With a 3-0 lead at halftime the match was all but over as Wolves were unlikely to score three answered second half goals.
Joe Cold would score one in the 56th minute for Chelsea as it would end up being 4-0 at the end of the match. Wolves were dominated from the start and Chelsea extends their lead as Arsenal lost at Sunderland.
