New Zealand beats Bahrain 1-0; advances to 2010 World Cup Finals – Video Highlights
New Zealand played a solid first leg to keep it 0-0 with the second leg going back home. Rory Fallon would score in the 45th minute to give the home side a 1-0 lead. The goal came from a header off a corner kick and New Zealand was well on their way to advancing to South Africa. They would need to hold onto their lead for another 45 minutes.
Bahrain had some good chances in the second half and almost tied it when they had a penalty kick. Fortunately for New Zealand it was missed and they would hold on to book their ticket to South Africa. It was a disappointing result for Bahrain.
