Sunderland v Manchester City Preview

Manchester City are coming off an impressive 3-0 win against Liverpool while Sunderland lost 0-1 at WBA. Sunderland have yet to win a match this season but are always a tough team to place at home.

City have won their last two matches including a Europa League match on Thursday in which they used many back-up players. Expectations are very high for the club who has spent a ton of money in the last two years. There are few injury concerns ahead of the match and Mario Balotelli could be available after missing the last two matches.

Sunderland’s main scoring threat is Darren Bent who has one on the season and 24 in the 2009-10 season. He is always a dangerous player and will need to perform well for the Black Cats to get a result. For City, Carlos Tevez remains a key player in the attack but the addition of James Milner has added to the depth and quality.

City play an attacking style, usually with a 4-3-3 formation, so it should be an open match with chances for both sides. It should be a win for City but a lot closer than their win last Monday.
